Computacenter has announced the acquisition of IT Asset Disposal (ITAD) business RDC in the UK from Arrow Electronics.
The acquisition follows the decision taken by Arrow Electronics to back out of the asset disposal sector after struggling to turn a profit from that arm of the business.
The reseller has partnered successfully with RDC for over half a decade, firstly under its own ownership and over the last five years successfully while RDC has been owned by Arrow.
In a statement Computacenter said it fully respects Arrow’s decision to step out of the ITAD business globally and that, while is has investigated working with other partners, it believe that acquiring RDC is the most straightforward way to guarantee continuity of service to our major accounts, particularly given our historic knowledge of the business.
Mike Norris, Computacenter Group CEO commented “we are delighted that we will be maintaining a high-level of IT Asset Disposal services to our customers into the future”.
