On Thursday 3rd October, Digital Wholesale Solutions launched DWSfest, the first event of its kind, held to thank partners for their ongoing support. Taking place at Pergola Paddington, London, over 300 partners joined the super aggregator for a Channel-only take on the traditional Oktoberfest.
Sponsored by TalkTalk Business, BT Wholesale, Virgin Media Business, O2, Nokia, Firstwave Cloud, Epsilon and CAT Phones, the Bavarian-themed event brought together some of the best in the Channel to celebrate power in partnership.
A networking event with a twist, partners and suppliers joined DWS to indulge in German beer, served in custom DWS steins, and delicious food while they got the chance to chat to staff outside of the office, in between performances by a traditional Oompah band.
A relaxed afternoon of networking was followed by the first ever DWS awards ceremony, hosted by Sales Director, Garry Growns. Partners were rewarded for fantastic work with Voice, Connectivity, Mobile, IP Technology and Mobile Hardware, with special awards for Reseller Partner, Network Mobile Partner and International Carrier Partner of the year.
The big award of the night, however, was the Power in Partnership award, presented by CEO Terry O’Brien to Ciaran Jones from Transaction Network Services (TNS).
“We’re delighted to be recognised by DWS as one of their most valued partners,” said Ciaran Jones, Vice President of EU Operations at TNS. “Our long-standing relationship is a testament to the key strengths which both of our organisations bring to the table and that enable us to offer a superior service to our customers.”
The unique event was a triumph according to Terry O’Brien, who was delighted with the feedback from guests. “DWS would not be the success it is without our partners, which is why we wanted to do something big to show our partners how grateful we are for their business,” said O’Brien. “An Oktoberfest seemed like the perfect event for guests to kick back and relax, networking with our staff and maybe picking an award for their hard work.”
“No one else in the Channel is holding events like this so it was something new that I was really excited about. The feedback we’ve had from attendees has been so positive and it gave our team a fantastic opportunity to get to know the people behind the partners, strengthening relationships and maintaining that all-important human touch that DWS is so passionate about.”
